Five things Friday
Hi Team Danimals, I will keep it short and sweet on this beautiful Friday! I haven’t had much time to write content this week, but still wanted to share some awesome stuff I found.
I signed up for this Reforge series focused on retention + engagement, which starts next week so expect some content coming from this soon!

The days are long but the decades are short
A classic blog post by Sam Altman written 5 years ago when he turned 30. I find myself reading over this quite often. Some quotes below, but I recommend you give it a quick read yourself.
2) Life is not a dress rehearsal—this is probably it. Make it count. Time is extremely limited and goes by fast. Do what makes you happy and fulfilled—few people get remembered hundreds of years after they die anyway. Don’t do stuff that doesn’t make you happy (this happens most often when other people want you to do something). Don’t spend time trying to maintain relationships with people you don’t like, and cut negative people out of your life. Negativity is really bad. Don’t let yourself make excuses for not doing the things you want to do.
15) Don’t worry so much. Things in life are rarely as risky as they seem. Most people are too risk-averse, and so most advice is biased too much towards conservative paths.

#158 The Case of the Missing Hit
If you haven’t listened to this podcast yet, DO IT NOW! It’s an amazing episode about a pop song that seemingly disappeared from the web.
Play 🎮
A new game from the makers of League of Legends. It’s free and playable on Android and iOS. You compete with 7 other people online and draft your team of heroes from a shared pool. It’s complex yet easy to learn. Each game takes about 30 mins, which offers a nice break after or during your meetings.

Hong shao rou (Braised pork belly)
I see lots of quarantine cooking blog/vlog/toks these days. Welcome noobs, I’ve been busy getting fat at home for many years now. This recipe is one of the favorite things I’ve made recently. It’s rich, indulgent, and easy to make with just 6 ingredients! It takes a while for the pork belly to soften, so cook it under very low heat for 1.5 hours.
Watch 📺
This is my favorite Netflix show. Imagine a zombie outbreak during the Joseon dynasty. In our highly connected world, seconds after a zombie outbreak, we will be seeing it on YouTube, but in the ancient world, word travels slowly, so there’s an incredible suspense created by this fog of war. Season 1 focused more on the horror of the disease, whereas Season 2 delves deeper into the palace intrigue.
See you all next week. Stay safe out there!
